Psychology Services

Fairfax Pediatric Associates offers psychology services thru George Mason University.

 

A George Mason University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student offers behavioral health consultations. In-person visits are at the Greenbriar office. Each session is one hour long. 

 

The cost is $95 per hour. Insurance is not accepted and payment is not reimbursable. If the patient has an FSA or HSA account with their insurance that allows them to use those funds for medical purposes, they may use those funds to pay for the visit. They may not submit to insurance for reimbursement.

 

One hour appointments are available Wednesday and Thursday  from 1pm-4pm (may be in-person or virtual) in our Greenbriar location. 

The initial appointments are made by Lisa Adcock, LPN (Nurse Care Coordinator) at 703-391-0900 ext 209 (follow-up appointments may be made by the front desk).

 

 

Brianna Hernandez is the current George Mason University doctoral student doing behavioral health consultations. 

Brianna Hernandez

Education & Training

Dr. Hernandez received her B.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from University of Florida. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Gallaudet University. Dr. Hernandez has experience providing therapy and psychological assessments with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including a university counseling center, clinical and research hospital, therapeutic nursery program, public charter schools, and private practice.
 
Dr. Hernandez’s specialties include working with d/Deaf and hard of hearing community members and those who use American Sign Language, developmental and learning disabilities (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder), and children living with and adjusting to disabilities and chronic illnesses. She also has experience with behavioral concerns, executive functioning challenges, parent training, working with Spanish-speaking families, traumatic stress, anxiety, selective mutism, childhood OCD, depression, and grief. Dr. Hernandez primarily uses cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, play, art, and trauma-informed approaches when working with youth and families to support their well-being.
